At around 01.00 am on Monday Aphichai Krobpetch The head of Pattaya Police Station along with lieutenants from the Chonburi police department had a crackdown at the oh so famous red light district ‘Walking Street’ as government policy to keep the place ‘clean’. Police surprising reported that there were no illegal activities going on.
Authorities and police officers raided and have had a look at the clubs and pubs within Walking Street and reportedly found no evidence smuggling of prostitution, narcotics, firearms, and all kinds of illegal activities. This is all to prevent any bad image that the already well known Walking Street may may be too ‘taboo’ for– the police department wants to keep a clean, fun image of the place for the huge amount of tourists coming to visit on long weekends. This is also long running plan to create a good image of Pattaya as the top tourist attraction in the world and not know as a ‘hook up’ city of Thailand.
